Europe is full of charming cities to visit this Saint Valentine’s Day and Madrid is no exception. The capital of Spain has many places where you can enjoy lovely activities so you and your beloved one can enjoy like you deserve. From terraces overlooking beautiful squares to Michelin-stared restaurants, Madrid has it all. At WabiHost we love our city and we want you to fall in love with it too.

5. A musical on Gran Vía

Madrid is the scene of many wonderful plays. To go out as a couple this Valentine’s Day we suggest you to take a look at the billboard as there are many offers to enjoy with your love. If you like musicals, you cannot miss The Lion King, which is already a classic in many cities around the world.

This work has everything. Colourful costumes, catchy songs and wonderful choreography. It really is an unforgettable show.

4. Spa in Arab baths

Did you know that Madrid is a city that dates back to the Arab era? A theory says that the name of the city comes from an Arabic word that refers to the abundance of water. Ironically today we say that the only thing missing from Madrid is a beach. But since water is not actually a problem, this weekend we’d like suggest you to immerse yourself in the past, almost literally.

Visit Madrid with your partner and enjoy the relaxing effect of water in the Arab Baths Al-Andaluz. There you can get into some warm pools bathed in a very intimate dim light and wash away your problems. We recommend you book a relaxing couple massage with aromatic oils. You and your partner will come out fresh new from this ancestral experience.

3. Sunset in Chueca

Madrid has terraces everywhere, such as Plaza Santa Ana and the Círculo de Bellas Artes. Our favourite is still the Roommate Hotel Oscar in Chueca that overlooks the Plaza Pedro Zerolo. The decoration is very nice, the menu shows some quality and the views complete the romantic experience. It has an outdoor area with stoves and another indoors for those who definitely do not like the sometimes chilly breeze. The service is very attentive and will surely give you and your partner a warm welcome.

2. The best fusion food in Madrid

No romantic date would be complete without a good quality restaurant dinner. For such a special occasion I would like to recommend one of my favourite places in town: BiBo by Dani García. This Michelin-stared chef offers a menu full of Spanish products influenced by his travels around the world. It is clear from the moment you enter the restaurant and the bar welcomes you with its famous hot air balloon that the favours in the menu will make you travel. There they prepare the best cocktails that I have tasted in Madrid.

Needless to say, the food is spectacular. We recommend the cherry gazpacho with payoyo cheese and the fois yogurt. For the sweet lovers, the Sun of Málaga and the Cheesecake are sublime.

1. Wine routes of Madrid

Did you know that Madrid has its own wine protected denomination of origin (DDO)? Yeahp. So we recommend that for an extra special weekend in the heart of Spain, you book a night in at romantic country house or boutique hotel. Then you can go through the many hundred-year-old wineries that populate the outskirts of Madrid by car.

There are several wine routes available. Here we leave you a link so you know where they are and how to visit them. But if you really want to know the most delicious gastronomic secrets that this rich community offers, book now your walk with WabiHost. We’ll make sure you find your match…for your tastebuds.
